What you should know about St Theresas School
The Catholic Character of our school focuses on helping our students to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ in their daily lives, and to live by His values. The school is situated in James Street, Plimmerton and was founded in 1949 by the Sisters of St Joseph of Nazareth, teaching 51 children in three classrooms. Children are being taught the skills they need to become life long learners and take ownership of their learning. We provide rewarding and successful sporting and physical education opportunities for all our students with a large playing field, a netball court, adventure playgrounds and our own swimming pool.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to take an active part in their child’s learning and we welcome involvement in our class programmes. Our aim is to support the school's mission, through fundraising and fostering the well being of our school families within our Christian community. The Parents and Friends Committee is made up of volunteer parents from within the school community a representative from the teaching staff and a representative from the Board of Trustees
Step Four About a term before your child is due to begin school, they will be invited to attend a series of Ore school sessions at the school each Friday afternoon. Kids Go Release at Sta glands on Children’s Day 16 February March 2017.
St Theresa's Catholic school has an expectation that each kid will live by the school's Gospel values. The Board of Trustees consists of five members elected by parents of children attending the School, the Principal, a Staff Representative and four Proprietor’s appointees. The Board of Trustees, together with the staff and parent community, all work in partnership to provide our children with the superior feasible primary education academic, social, spiritual and physical. Step One If you wish to enroll your kid at St Theresa's Catholic School, you will first need to make an appointment with the principal.
For every lunch ordered through NZ Kids Food, 10c will be donated back to the school which is a huge way to offer back to the school and local community. Teachers will inform their Syndicate Leader that a care has been raised and inform them of the actions they intend to receive to deal with it. Each classroom has their own Treaty based on the school's Gospel values that teacher and students together establish at the beginning of the fresh school year. Children at St Theresa's Catholic School are learning to do the right thing because it is in keeping with Gospel values and it is the superior thing to do. Parents will be regularly informed of school events and achievements through the school website and through the weekly school newsletter and termly class newsletters. For parents caregivers to communicate with teachers about the learning needs of their child.
It is about making good connections between people and between people and our world. Encourage the school's values and help to create a positive school profile and sense of community. A St Theresa's Catholic School Sports Uniform is old by both girls and boys for physical education and sport, in addition to apropos sports shoes. All parents caregivers will be given the opportunity to formally confront the teachers in the first term in an interview with the kid offer to approve goals for Term 1 and 2. Step Five Beginning day!
