What you should know about Tawa Montessori Preschool
Tawa Montessori Preschool is a preschool for children 3 6 years old, based on the guiding principles of Maria Montessori. Through creating and hand developing our preschool and enviro nature programme, our preschool has evolved to be unlike any other early childhood centre in Wellington. We are a pre school where children, staff and families feel a sense of belonging and find long lasting friendships. A community place where each member is valued as a unique individual, in a culture of respect.
They are the knower of the child, the preparer of the environment, the presenter of the lessons, the respecter and protector of the child's learning experiences and the rolemodel in the classroom. Our teachers not only help children to become independent, to concentrate, to observe and to form good habits, they also nurture the child's inner core of love and holistic development. Julia has a Diploma in Teaching Primary , a Graduate Diploma of Teaching ECE and an AMI Diploma in Montessori Early Childhood Education. Helen assists Julia and our students with the Montessori curriculum both inside and outside.
She has over 20 years experience at all levels of early childhood education and is qualified with a Bachelor of Education Teaching ECE and an Aperfield Montessori Diploma for age 3 6. Leanne joined us in early 2016 to guide the students in the deck and garden classrooms. Haruyo worked in a Wellington City Montessori before starting her family and has now joined us as a teacher on Thursdays and Fridays. Sometimes she disappears for some quiet time underneath the deck, where it is cooler and the only company would be the odd brave mouse!. She prefers to sit on the teacher’s chair, to great hilarity of the children
Each kid will be introduced to the Montessori curriculum at their individual level and capability.
Through big-hearted children enough of opportunities to concern for our animals they prosper a deep respect and compassion for all our living things. At Tara Montessori Preschool we encourage your child's growth, inspire their curiosity and nurture peace. We present half day and packed day sessions for up to 24 children from 2 yrs and 10 months. Creating sparks that make our children's eyes shine, as healthy as connecting them with the automatic world and engaging them in authentic and sincere experiences is our most important work.
The animals and plants, the spontaneous elements and the natural materials available in our natural environment donate children ample of opportunities to have real life, real experiences. With a Montessori philosophy and a very strong emphasis on environmental and nature education, we provide an excellent base for your child's education. Taking responsibility, being respectful, showing compassion and taking care are heart centered qualities the kid unfolds in partnership with nature. Our outdoor environment is the cornerstone of our programmed at Tara Montessori Preschool. We have a number of enrollment options opening throughout the year and attending our Open Day would be the ideal way to secure one of these positions for your child. Children can jump in puddles, study insects, climb on logs, pick apples from our trees, gather eggs from our chickens and plant their own vegetables. The instinctive world is rich and dynamic and provides many opportunities for the children to explore freely, increasing their confidence, emotional competence, physical and social development.
Early childhood is the optimum time to start fostering children’s experience development. The enviro garden is looking fantastic and our students are enjoying time with the teachers, experiencing and growing every day.
