Te Kura M ori o Porirua is a total immersion M ori school located within the rohe of Ng ti Toa Rangatira. We are a vibrant and proud school that provides quality education and learning opportunities for both Kura Tuatahi Primary years 1 8 and Wharekura Secondary years 9 13 . We acknowledge that we all have special skills that enable us to teach and learn. A range of ako learning strategies are encouraged such as Tuakana and Teina. By year 13, our graduates will be confident, articulate speakers and writers of Te Reo M ori and English.

Te Kura M ori o Porirua is a total immersion kura established in 2001 under Section 156 of the Education Act 1989. Established with the blessing of Ng ti Toa Rangatira, the wh nau wh nui and iwi enjoy a partnership to meet the educational and cultural needs of tamariki primarily living within the Porirua region. Together with our stakeholders, we have also developed a graduate profile for our Tau 13 graduates. These documents provide the kura with a framework for teaching, learning, assessing and reporting.
Te Kura M ori o Porirua is affiliated with Ng Kura Iwi, as such we are committed to recognising and valuing Ng ti Toa Rangatira as the mana whenua of this region and the iwi identities of all of our students. Ng Kura Iwi o Aotearoa is a constituted body that represents and supports tribal schools.
